Tricky Scheduling • Search and Apply for Jobs.. How to? • Progress on My First Art Commission • Preparing to Code a Local Web-Server in JavaScript + Ingenious File Management • An Insane Max Strength Exercise • Beautiful Photos of Nature and Runes in Sunset • The Making of My First CV • Writing Long-Term and Short-Term Life Goals.

I woke up before 8 in the morning. Like yesterday, I prepared a compressed schedule, divided the 840 remaining minutes of the day into segments of 52 minutes and 30 seconds.

I jotted down clock times for the day, from 8:00 to 22:00 and planned activities based on the a prototype schedule I made for testing JSuSCH2R (something I plan to write to learn JavaScript).

I made the bed, drank water and felt grateful and energized. My father is blasted some nice music from his office down to the cellar where I did yoga.

I paused the program to write this post until here… Time to finish, I don’t want to fall into the trap of being distracted throughout the day; it is better to write the whole blog in one swoop.

15 and a half hours later, my schedule broke somewhere in the afternoon.. Still, I am happy, got things done today:

Cleared paper notes by creating a web-page called Condensed Job Search Advice

Art commission

More soft colors added… this will be slow but steady

I installed node.js on Ubuntu 18.04. It is a sweet thing! It directly creates a local server which I can use to run JavaScript in my browser.

File management

The main drive on the laptop I use is low on disc space. But it has actually been a blessing in disguise. While problematic at first, almost making the computer unusable, I was forced to be careful and frugal with how I create and store files and streamline my work flow.

Let me tell you how I have it set up:

To manage the low disk space I moved my images and documents to relevant Google Drive accounts. Google Drive gives you 15 GB of data storage per user.
I currently have one account each for

  • art
  • code/web
  • food
  • enlightenment/photography
  • gaming
  • poetry
  • music
  • workout

To keep things simple I only have one folder at the top level in each of the accounts, with the same name as the activity. Then, by sharing it with the main account and using google-drive-ocamlfuse to mount the main account locally, I get a neat local directory structure with a total maximum storage of 120 GB. I can work as if the storage is local, even though it is stored in the cloud. The read/write-access is a bit slow, but it does not bother me.

I use another disc which is shared with the Windows installation on the computer for large files, such as when I record movies for editing and uploading to YouTube.

For quick work I can still use the main home directory in Ubuntu, I just have to remember to clean up afterwards.

I recorded material for a new episode of Let’s Play Survival Minecraft : Flower Valley, Savanna, my Survival Minecraft series on YouTube

Uploaded the last video before entering this competition with a Voodoo Styled Pumpkin House my Creative Minecraft series on YouTube,

I created buttons to help sell mp3’s of this album preview

Here’s a button image as an example:

I am getting better at using GIMP, editing HTML and general web design.

Improvisations on piano and bass guitar will be recorded during the coming days!

Deliciously vegan soup, sandwiches and cappuccino!

In addition to yoga, I took a walk & jogged for about 1.3 km. I even attempted to lift a large tree trunk. I miss dead lifts !!

Job search

After stressing out I listened to good advice from my parents… take it easy. Practice applying for jobs, just like practicing a sport.

I updated my general CV with more skills and added scores to self reflect, see where I’m at and where I can go. Currently, the Swedish translation is the most up-to-date.

I took a walk to the lake and practiced reading and writing runes on these stones. The script is younger futhark.

I took even more photographs

These don’t need captions or explanations.. just beauty!

When I came home, I simplified both my long-term and short-term life goals..
